Some of Dirk's influences as he grew up were the Beatles, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, the Cars, April Wine, Rick Derringer, the Scorpions, Hendrix, Cream, Aerosmith, and the list goes on.
He hit the road right after graduation at age 17, and played professionally in the region for a decade or so. At age 30 Dirk "retired" from the club scene to co-form the hard rock group Soul Patrol, which had great local success in the 90's and were nearly signed to a label in 1993.
Dirk has played over 1000 3-4 hour shows in the last 8 years between Big Hair Revolution, Land of Voices (his solo project), Gladhammer, Misfit Toys and other groups as a "hired gun".
He is also a "record" producer and song writer, and a drug and alcohol counselor by day and enjoys success in those areas as well.
Kelly Porter was born in Spokane, Washington and his fascination with the piano began when he was just four years old. The rest, as they say, is history. That was fifty plus years ago and the swath of stylized keyboard riffs, smooth background vocals and innovative tone quality he cut through the music industry is wide and deep. He has played in over 1200 clubs and professional venues from Seattle to New York, from Alaska to San Diego and even wowed 'em throughout Canada.
